Are you looking for Class 5 MOT Birmingham?
The MOT test is the legally required inspection of vehicles' safety- and roadworthiness in the UK. New vehicles must be inspected for the first time after three years (since registration) and then every 12 months.
What is a Class 5 vehicle?
The following vehicles are classed as Class 5:
- Private passenger vehicles with 13+ seats
- Motorhomes and caravans
- Ambulances
- Dual-purpose vehicles
- Playbuses
Please note:
Class 5 MOT tests are not carried out in every MOT garage as they require a specialist MOT tester and additional facilities compared to regular Class 4 and 7 tests.
Here at Top Techs Birmingham, we have both - the specialists and the facilities.
What is tested during the Class 5 MOT Birmingham inspection?
The primary inspection is a visual, functional, and efficiency test of specific components and a check to see whether the vehicle complies with government regulations.
The MOT includes the following components:
- Brakes
- Lighting
- Chassis and suspension
- Steering
- Wheels and tyres
- Windows and mirrors
- Seatbelts
- Number plates
- Exhaust and Emissions
- and more
You can find the complete list of checkpoints on the government website and at our testing station.
After completing the Class 5 MOT Birmingham test, we will issue either a VT20 (pass) or VT30 (fail) certificate.
If no or only a minor defect was detected, the vehicle has passed its MOT.
If Major or Dangerous issues were found, the vehicle failed the test.
To drive legally on public roads, all issues must be rectified, and a partial re-test must be conducted afterwards within ten days.
Here at Top Techs Birmingham we offer Pre-MOT checks as well as repair services.
